Melissa Relief: Supporting our Siblings

In the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, our communities have been reminded of both the fragility of life and the strength that comes from standing together in times of crisis.
Â

Since the hurricane struck, Christ Church Cure, Port Antonio, has been working in collaboration with the Portland, St. Thomas and Kingston Deaneries, private individuals, and our Diocese to bring relief to our affected brothers and sisters in Trelawny, St. Ann, and Portland.
Our response has taken several forms. We have distributed care packages containing essential food and household items to families in need. We have also offered psycho-social and spiritual support, recognising that disasters affect not only homes and livelihoods but also the hearts and minds of those who experience them. Alongside this, we have begun assisting with the rebuilding of homes, helping some families take their first steps toward recovery.
Â

This effort has been made possible only through the generosity, compassion, and hard work of many people—churches, friends, donors, volunteers, and well-wishers who have chosen to stand with those who are hurting.
Â
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported this mission of care and restoration. Your kindness is making a real difference in the lives of many families.
Â
The work, however, is not yet finished. If you would like to support our Melissa Relief Effort, we warmly invite you to reach out to us. Together, we can continue to bring hope, healing, and practical help to those who need it most..
